The Process

Taking my cues from the original dust jacket of Joyce’s Ulysses I designed the identity for the show to connect the historic and the contemporary.

The Limerick artist John Shinnors agreed to create the image of Joyce that I used across the material, an image of Joyce looking back at the viewer through a picture frame graphic that I created to represent the lookingglass.

The blue/green colouring of the original copy of Ulysses I used as the lead colours across all the supporting material. I designed the identity for the show, the posters and flyers, the catalogue, the website as well as press release material. I also designed the exhibition show space in Dublin Castle.

James Joyce Centenary

Commissioned by The Arts Council of Ireland as part of the James Joyce centenary year celebrations, ‘The Cracked Looking Glass’ show included contributions from Ireland’s leading artists and writers as well as the Arts minister John O'Donoghue and the visual arts curator for ReJoyce Dublin Dr. Christa Maria Lerm-Hayes.
