The Process

I started the design process by taking a 'peek over the fence' to learn from what others were doing well with their task tools.

With a competitive analysis as a start I conducted user interviews and stakeholder interviews to determine what functions and features where required and prioritised the results to create a development backlog. I created a proposed information architecture to structure and label the content for the application. Through the information architecture I was able to set out the objectives of each screen and the role each screen plays for the user.

The core of the design is built on a considered user experience. Once the functions and screens had been agreed I worked up options for the interface, the UI. The UI design needed to create a cohesive style and design language for the whole product and visually communicate the path laid out by the UX work.

A Tasks Tool

We created this tool to help users organize and keep track of individual and team tasks related to building an online business.

The tool was more than a to-do list. As well as allowing users to track tasks from beginning to end, it allowed for delegating subtasks to teammates, and setting deadlines to make sure projects are done on time. As a task management application it empowered teams to work more productively and efficiently.

The tracking tasks component allowed online sellers to identify which tasks are more important or require more time, so a team can plan their time and meet deadlines.
